How to Troubleshoot Grinding on the Dell 1720DN Printer

The Dell 1720dn is a monochrome laser printer that is designed for home offices. The printer features a built-in Ethernet jack to allow you to add the device to your home network. Unfortunately, over time your printer can experience a paper jam where paper gets dislodged inside the printer and causes it to make a loud grinding noise. Removing a paper jam from your Dell 1720dn printer is simple, and soon your printer will no longer make a grinding noise during every print job.
If you want to troubleshoot your dell printer then follow this blog,How to Troubleshoot Your Dell Printer, which i have discussed in same blog.

Step1: Disconnect power from your Dell 1720dn laser printer's power cord to avoid injury while working inside the printer. Slide the paper feed tray out of the bottom of the printer and remove any folded or crumpled up pieces of paper.

Step2: Pull on the front panel of the printer and open it to access the inner components of the Dell 1720dn printer. Gently pull out and remove the entire gray toner cartridge bay from the inside of the printer. Place the toner cartridge bay in a dark area, as excessive light can damage the cartridge and cause your future prints to fade.

Step3: Pull out any trapped paper underneath the center of the Dell 1720dn printer where the cartridge bay is housed and discard it.

Step4: Place the toner cartridge bay back into the front of the Dell 1720dn laser printer. Ensure that the bay locks into place or else the printer will not function correctly. Close the front panel of the printer and reconnect the power cord. Press the "Power" button to power the printer back on and print a test document to ensure that the paper jams have been completely cleared and that the grinding noise has gone away.
